    Survey Report on Dating Questionnaire to HKUST BBA Students

    Followed by a talk at HKUST Business School on 3 October, we have done a dating survey and a questionnaire was distributed to HKUST BBA full-time students who come from a cultural diverse background.  The age of the female students who have done the survey ranges from 18 to 22 years old; 80% of them are local Chinese and 20% are overseas Chinese. For male students, they are between 18 to 20 years old, 83% of them are Caucasian and 17% are local Chinese. 

    The survey results showed an interesting fact that the viewpoints of the female and male students are quite different.

    From male students’ perspective (Age between 18 to 20)


    General
    •        60% tend to choose a partner with lower education than them
    •       100% do not mind dating an older woman 
    •        80% do not mind a woman taller than them;
    •        60% would date ladies with a plastic surgery
    •        80% would have sex on the first date
    •         80% okay for a woman to make the first move in dating
    Bad attributes of female in Hong Kong
    •         Materialistic, princess-like (dreaming of a prince to come to them), shy, too long to get ready, jealousy, lack of empathy, impatience, etc.
    Key factor to be single
    •        Long working hours
    •        People they are interested in are already involved or not interested in them
    •        Haven’t met anyone they want to be involved
    Ways to step out of singlehood
    •        Ask help from their friends or families
    •        Use dating services and try online dating

    From female students’ perspective (Age between 18 to 22)

    The May Monthly Fellowship gathering of Dragon Junior Chamber International was held at One Sliversea clubhouse on Friday, 17th May 2013.  The main theme of the gathering is “How to be the Apple of his/her eye?”.  So Klose was invited as Guest Speaker to discuss the current dating situation in Hong Kong and to share the dating tips through a role play session.
